Brentford Demand £65 Million for Mbeumo
Brentford are demanding £65 million from Manchester United for the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo.
Last week, the Manchester side submitted a second offer worth £55 million, plus an additional £7.5 million in add-ons to sign Mbeumo, but Brentford rejected the bid.
The London club are holding out for a £65 million bid. This means there is currently only a small difference in valuation between the two clubs.
The Cameroonian forward is keen on a move to Old Trafford. As a result, although manager Thomas Frank hoped to bring his former player to Tottenham, that attempt was unsuccessful.
Negotiations between United and Brentford are still ongoing. If a deal for Mbeumo is agreed, it would become a record-breaking transfer for the Bees.
Last year, Brentford sold Ivan Toney to Al-Ahli for £40 million, the biggest transfer in the club’s history.
Mbeumo’s departure would be a major challenge for new manager Keith Andrews, who has just been appointed to replace Thomas Frank at the helm of the Gtech Community Stadium.
On the other hand, manager Ruben Amorim sees Mbeumo as a key addition to strengthen United's attack, which struggled last season with only 44 goals scored in the Premier League.
