CR7 Agrees, Jorge Jesus Close to Becoming Al Nassr Head Coach
This news was reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via his social media account in the early hours of Sunday (June 29).
"Jorge Jesus has agreed to become the new head coach of Al Nassr. The former Al Hilal manager will be unveiled soon after a deal has been agreed for Jesus to take over at Al Nassr," Romano wrote on his social media account.
He also added that Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr’s star player, has given his approval for the appointment of the Portuguese coach.
This report is further supported by information from French football journalist Santi Aouna from Foot Mercato.
Meanwhile, several Portuguese media outlets stated that the final agreement between both parties is expected to be finalized within the next week.
Al Nassr is known to be searching for an experienced coach with a proven track record of winning trophies, following their disappointing season last year.
Jorge Jesus emerged as the top candidate thanks to his successful reputation, despite facing a challenging stint with Al Hilal.
He previously led Al Hilal, Al Nassr’s rival, to a Saudi Pro League title two seasons ago.
In the ongoing negotiations, Al Nassr is reportedly offering Jesus a contract until 2027. However, details regarding salary and other clauses are still being discussed.
This move comes after Al Nassr officially parted ways with their former coach, Stefano Pioli. The Italian manager had only been in charge since September last year but failed to deliver any silverware during his tenure.
