Kylian Mbappé is Back
Real Madrid has received a major boost ahead of their match against RB Salzburg, as star forward Kylian Mbappé has returned to full training with the team.
Mbappé Returns to Training
Before the clash between Real Madrid and RB Salzburg (scheduled for 8 AM on June 27, Hanoi time), Kylian Mbappé rejoined the full team training session on June 25.
Mbappé had been sidelined for over a week due to acute gastroenteritis, and was even hospitalized at one point. Since then, he had been undergoing light rehabilitation and mostly training alone at the gym.
Due to his health condition, the French star missed Real Madrid’s first two matches at the FIFA Club World Cup against Al Hilal and Pachuca.
Coach Xabi Alonso Won’t Risk Mbappé
According to the latest updates, head coach Xabi Alonso has decided not to include Mbappé in the squad for the match against Salzburg, as the player is reported to have lost around 4–5 kilograms recently and is not yet physically fit to compete.
Meanwhile, Gonzalo Garcia, who delivered impressive performances in the first two matches, is expected to remain in the starting lineup.
Mbappé is hoping to score his first goal at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which would further cement his status as the club's top scorer.
However, he is likely to only feature in the knockout stages if Real Madrid advances past the group stage. In the 2024/25 season, the French star has already scored 43 goals across all competitions for the Spanish giants.
