Ronaldo Commits to Al Nassr: A Legend’s Journey Continues in Saudi Arabia
Cristiano Ronaldo has officially reached an agreement to extend his contract with Al Nassr, as his current deal was set to expire on June 30.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo will stay for at least one more season, with Al Nassr aiming to extend the contract until 2027.
This marks a significant move for both Ronaldo and the Saudi Pro League. When he joined Al Nassr in December 2022, the former Manchester United star became the first major name to accept the invitation from the Public Investment Fund (PIF), paving the way for a wave of European stars to enter Saudi football such as Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, and Neymar.
However, Ronaldo’s journey at Al Nassr hasn’t completely lived up to expectations. Despite scoring 99 goals in 111 appearances an achievement most strikers can only dream of he has yet to help the team win a major trophy.
His failure to capture domestic or continental titles has led many to question the Portuguese star’s future.
But once again, Ronaldo chooses to defy the odds. At age 40, instead of seeking a more relaxed destination, he remains committed to the challenge in Saudi Arabia.
The fact that he is ready to play until 2027 when he’ll be 42 shows that Ronaldo still has a burning desire, especially the ambition to lift a trophy with Al Nassr.
For the Saudi Pro League, keeping Ronaldo is vital. He is not just an icon on the pitch, but also the face of the league’s global promotion.
Ronaldo’s presence draws media attention, fans, and sponsors, creating momentum to attract even more international stars.
If the new deal is finalized, Ronaldo will enter his fifth year at Al Nassr a major milestone in his already illustrious career. And as always, he continues to write his own story, where age and doubt are no obstacle.
Ronaldo is not done yet. And Saudi Arabia on and off the pitch still needs him.
