Liverpool to Break Alexander Isak's Transfer Record
A deal for Alexander Isak to join Liverpool is closer than ever, with Liverpool ready to spend up to £140 million (equivalent to €161 million).
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool have made rapid progress in negotiations with Newcastle United. The port city club is prepared to pay £60 million immediately, plus an additional £60 million next year. Liverpool have also agreed to pay an additional £20 million in bonuses, if additional conditions are met.
The total value of Alexander Isak's transfer could reach £140 million (equivalent to €161 million), breaking the all-time transfer record in English football. Isak and Liverpool had previously agreed on personal terms for a five-year contract, paving the way for the Premier League champions to make a bid for the striker to Newcastle.
Despite spending nearly €80 million on Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool's board believes Isak would be the perfect addition to take their attack to the next level. After selling Luis Diaz to Bayern for over €80 million, Liverpool are eager to complete Isak's transfer.
If the deal is completed, Alexander Isak will become the most expensive signing in English football history, surpassing Florian Wirtz, who also joined the Reds this summer for €125 million.
Isak, with his impressive performances for the Magpies, has attracted the attention of many European giants. However, he only wants to join Liverpool, a club that has just won the Premier League and is preparing a revolution in attack. Isak himself is also working hard to leave Newcastle.
